Musaik e.V. Dresden

Musaik e.V. is an award-winning social music project in the Prohlis neighborhood of Dresden. With the support of a large network of friends and sponsors, Musaik uses music as a tool for social change to promote integration and open up new perspectives for children and young people.

The students—some of whom have limited access to cultural education opportunities—receive free, low-barrier instrumental lessons in an orchestra setting up to three times a week through Musaik. The instructors are trained instrumental teachers supported by a network of social educators, full-time staff, and volunteers. The Staatskapelle Dresden provides musical support to Musaik as its official partner orchestra.
